Battery type and runtime depend on the model and usage conditions (pipe size, fitting type, ambient temperature, battery age).

For best performance:

• Store batteries dry, moderate temperature

• Avoid leaving batteries fully discharged for long periods

• Use manufacturer-approved chargers only

Common causes include:

• Incorrect jaw profile/size for the system

• Jaw not fully seated/latched

• Low battery or poor battery connection

• Misalignment on the fitting

• Tool requiring service (high cycles / wear)

If a press cycle doesn’t complete correctly, stop and inspect tool and jaws before continuing.

Z-Press is a range of battery-powered press tools and compatible jaws designed for fast, consistent pipe pressing across common press-fit systems used in plumbing, heating and commercial installation work.

The brilliance of a Z press tool is that you can change jaws very quickly and easily enabling you to work on different plumbing mediums in seconds with just one tool. M and V-profile jaws are designed to be used on copper, stainless steel and carbon steel systems. TH and U-profiles jaws are designed to be used on plastic multilayer systems that are commonly found in domestic plumbing and underfloor heating systems. It is up to you make sure you are using the correct profile jaw for each type of fitting and plumbing medium.

The tools are all supplied as standard with M-Profile jaws. If you are using the PZ1930 tool there are M, V, TH and U profile jaws available. The PZ1550 is only available with M profile jaws.

Before use:

• Confirm the correct jaw size and profile for the fitting system

• Check jaws are clean, undamaged, and lubricated if required

• Ensure the battery is charged and seated correctly

• Do a quick function check (open/close cycle)

• Inspect the tool for damage (housing, pins, jaw retention)

Z-Press jaw availability depends on the jaw set and profile. In the UK, the most common installer sizes are typically 15 mm, 22 mm, 28 mm (and larger sizes for commercial work where applicable).

Warranty terms depend on the specific model and purchase channel. Keep proof of purchase and follow recommended servicing/maintenance to support warranty claims.

Your Z-Press tool needs to be serviced every 30,000 presses or every year, whichever comes sooner. The total number of presses are shown on the LCD display on the tool.
